Clydach Community Gardens is a not-for-profit environmental organisation improving community wellbeing and resilience through horticulture and nature based activities, and supporting the development of new and existing green spaces in Clydach, Swansea

Clydach Community Gardens launched in Spring 2019, transforming a disused piece of public land into an educational green space for learning about food, climate and the environment. Over the years we have developed a core group of nature-loving volunteers, built links with local schools and groups, and created a beautiful safe haven for all members of the community.

We run weekly sessions for our core volunteer base as well as additional activities and events for the wider community. We teach organic and regenerative practices, predominantly focusing on fruit, vegetable, and flower production. Through our activities we deliver informal education and local capacity building, as well as providing a welcoming atmosphere where attendees can learn new skills, spend time in nature, and make new connections within their community.

"Our community garden means everything to me, our gardening sessions are the highlight of my week. Our volunteers see the garden as an important resource when it comes to socialising and meeting others. The weekly sessions bring people together to look after the garden, meet others and learn new skills. I'm positively overwhelmed with how we have made it what it is today, with lots of hard work and determination."
